“A Month Without WiFi” MY First Story

It had been a month since the internet went out. At first, it was just an inconvenience. People were able to get by with their smartphones, but it wasn’t long before the data networks became overloaded and they too went down. No one knew what had caused the outage, but rumors began to spread that it was a cyber attack.

For Jane, the loss of the internet was more than just an inconvenience. She relied on it for her work as a freelance writer. Without it, she was unable to access her files or communicate with her clients. She tried to make the best of it, but it was difficult. She spent her days wandering around her small town, trying to find something to do.

At first, people tried to make the best of it. They spent more time talking to their neighbors and going for walks. But as the days went on, the novelty wore off and people began to get restless. Without the constant distraction of the internet, they found themselves with too much time on their hands.

The local library was the only place in town with internet access, but it was only available for an hour a day. People would line up outside well before the doors opened, desperate to check their email or post on social media.
